THERE'S a new gym in Myrtleford, but you won't find weights, climbing machines or yoga mats anywhere in sight.
Buffalo Boulders is an indoor climbing gym or, more specifically, a bouldering gym.
Being a height–limited climbing sport, there's no need for ropes and harnesses and is suitable for anyone five years and over.
Owner Joshua Landells has been climbing since he was quite young and has expertise in coaching various outdoor sports, while his staff are also excellent climbers and have worked in various climbing gyms across Australia.
"We opened the business to address the lack of indoor activities in and around the Alpine Valley," Joshua said.
"Bouldering is the sort of activity that suits the sort of people that live in our region as well as the many visiting guests and we have climbing options for all levels.
"We are really keen to educate the younger members of the community in climbing so that they can get out to explore and enjoy more of what this valley has to offer and welcome school groups to come and learn about what we do.
"We are also excited to announce that we will have an afterschool program starting in term two.
Bouldering is an excellent way to stay fit and healthy and there is a training space available with various exercise equipment.
So why not get your friends, family or workmates together and give bouldering a try – it's a great way to socialise, a unique place to hold your next birthday party or just get out for the day.
The team at Buffalo Boulders look forward to welcoming you this autumn and beyond.
