FALLS Creek and Mt Hotham alpine resorts are continuing to see mountain visitation well above their decade averages.
A continuation of great snow conditions, coupled with a hunger after COVID impacted seasons in 2020 and 2021 has seen huge visitation numbers.
According to data provided by the Victorian Alpine Resort Management Boards, Falls Creek has had 61,716 visitors up until Sunday, July 17 – which is 74 per cent up on the 10 year average of 35,515.
The resort's visitor days for the same period total 158,880 which is 74 per cent up on the 10 year average of 91,215.
Falls Creek Resort Management CEO Stuart Smythe said resort visitation is forecast to exceed 500,000 skier days this season "which will be an outstanding result".
Mt Hotham has seen an even more significant rise in visitation so far this season.
Visitors totalled 76,800 up until July 17, which is more than double the 10 year average of 31,594.
Visitor days are at 188,386, which again is more than double the 10 year average of 85,031.
Both resorts have solid accommodation bookings throughout August.
