Falls Creek: What's on in August

SKIING and snowboarding aren't the only things that Falls Creek has to offer.

Throughout August there are a range of awesome activities that will keep the whole family entertained both on and off the slopes.

Fireworks, racing, freestyle events, live music and comedy – you name it, Falls Creek has got it!

Events in August include:

• Twilight Tuesdays, every Tuesday night: Get the family together and head to Twilight Tuesday's in the Village Bowl for plenty of fun and laughs!

• Night skiing and boarding, every Wednesday and Saturday: Wombat's Ramble lights up from 6pm on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, allowing you to continue your ski and snowboard adventures as the sun goes down.

• Fireworks fiesta, each Thursday night: Be in the Village Bowl at 7pm as Thursday nights come alive this winter with fireworks!

• Hit the park: Show off your best skiing and boarding trick against the best! There is Rail Under Lights on August 5 as well as Storm the Castle and Big Air on August 20 – three huge events you don't want to miss! Head to skifalls.com.au to register.

• For the racers: In honour of Rudi Pendl, one of Falls Creek's most loved residents who had a great impact on the Snowsports School, the Rudi Pendl Honorary Night Race invites racers of all types to compete in a giant slalom fun race on Summit under lights. If you can turn on it you can race on it! Skis, tele's, snowboards, monoskis, snowbikes. Choose your weapon of choice and come and do a fast and fun lap down Summit at night!
