Falls Creek is ready for winter

YOU may have heard, summer's been a tricky one at Falls Creek – a pesky landslide closed the road between Falls Creek and Mount Beauty.

So, they are now very excitedly planning for winter (yes they know it's still autumn)!

It's going to be a great winter with improved access to the village so everything you love about Falls will be here ready for you... Plus a few new treats.

Their ski–in ski–out village is like nowhere else in Australia.

Imagine clicking into your skis at your front door each morning and sliding down to the chairlift.

For those who are too busy skiing to go back to their lodge for lunch, there's a new owner at Dicky Knees on–mountain dining at Ruined Castle Chair.

DK's will have delicious Bavarian alpine style food to fill those hungry tummies – think hearty sausages and comfort foods, great coffee and snacks.

They have Australia's Best Boutique Hotel, Astra, to provide an enormous array of aprés ski drinks and nibbles, or you could head to Feathertop for some live music by the fire.

Dinner is always a hard decision with a huge number of dining options, like Bob Sugar, Lakeside and Summit Ridge to name a few.

There are too many to visit in a week, so you'll just have to go up for a second trip.

Tobogganing is getting a kick this year with a brand new magic carpet for the toboggan area at Windy Corner (and yep, it's free to ride).

Keep the kids chugging along all day with a trip to Snonuts for the best hot donuts around and you've got the key to a great family holiday.

There are a few new restaurants, but you'll have to visit to find out all about them.

See you on the snow!
