THE winter exhibition is open every day of the school holidays from Saturday, June 25 to Sunday July 10.
It will be a beautiful exhibition of paintings and photographs by the Alpine Artists on the theme of winter – lots of snow and chilly Alpine scenes.
The Alpine Artists are the artist members of the Bright Art Gallery.
The gallery dedicates several exhibitions per year to works by the Alpine Artists.
In addition to the above, there will be selected works on display from the Gallery's large permanent collection, which consists of more than 250 works.
For this exhibition, the more contemporary will be the unifying theme.
Two works, recently donated by a relative of the artist Dorothy Mary Braund (1926–2013) will be part of the exhibition.
Dorothy was an Australian post–war figuration and contemporary feminist artist.
Dorothy was born in Melbourne and studied at the National Gallery School and in England in the 1950s.
Well known for her use of form and colour, her figurative style is characterised by its simplicity.
Her painting 'Girls in the Gym' (pictured) dates back to 1989.
The two exhibitions will make an interesting and diverse presentation for every visitor to enjoy.
The Bright Art Gallery is managed by a volunteer committee which is assisted during exhibitions by volunteer gallery members.
Every year the gallery is further improved with monies raised from the exhibition sales, entries and donations.
Many visitors are surprised by the roomy and well–equipped gallery.
The Winter Exhibition is open daily from 10am to 4pm from June 25 to July 10.
